'One of these days some simple soul will pick up the book of God;
read it and believe it.
Then the best of us will be embrassed.
We have adopted the convient theory that the Bible is a book to be explained,
whereas first and foremost it is a book to be believed,
and after that to be obeyed!'
Leonard Ravenhill.
When I fell upon this quotation, I stood still . . . shocked . . . dumb-founded!
I began to reflect a little on how true this was in MY life.
I must hence forth study to show myself approved unto God only;
to believe every word of His and to obey every instruction of His.
How can my puny self; my microscopic mind; my limited understanding; my very-partially blinded eyes
explain things seen and the things unseen . . .
My master laughs even as I imagine that I know His mind; His thoughts and His movements . . .
I feel ashamed; I feel stupid; I feel like a clown . . .
My only resolve is to . . .
trust and obey . . .
For there's no other way . . .

Todays prosperity pastors teach over-zealously on giving . . . and use odd
kinds of strategies to get the money out of the member's pockets into the
church...
